Girls in the Game provides award-winning sports, health and leadership programming to Chicago girls using curriculum that focuses on needs of the whole girl. Girls in the Game was founded in 1995 and today serves over 3,000 girls across Chicagoland. While all girls are welcomed, Girls in the Game targets girls that are at a disproportionate risk for poor health. During the school year, we offer after school programming at local schools for younger girls, as well as unique health education and scholarship programs for teens. During the summer, we offer girls ages 7-13 the chance to attend our Sports and Leadership Summer Camp starting in early July. At camp, our girls enjoy a highly engaging and active daily curriculum as well as multiple field trips, clinics, and events. Every day offers a new set of morning rotations. Girls learn traditional sports with which they are often familiar, as well as non-traditional sports which may be new. They also engage in a health and leadership workshop to discuss topics like bullying or body image.
